Shine the Light
2 Corinthians 3:18 And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit. (NRSV)
So far as I can tell, there are two types of people in this world – energy givers and energy takers. Those whose very presence just lights up your day, and those who seem to suck the air out of the room. The question is, which one are you?
When you’re doing you best just to get through each day, whatever each day happens to look like for you in your little corner of the world, you rarely stop to think, do you, of the impact your attitude, your countenance, your presence is having on those around you.
Honestly, I can be a real grump if I allow myself to be. As a recovering perfectionist, just a sideways glance from me can completely destroy someone’s day if I’m not careful. Others seem to have an air of dependency and need about them – just thinking of them drains you.
We all have some dark side that impacts others in a negative way, and fighting that on your own is a losing battle. But what if, when people look at you, when they just think of you, they see the glory of God instead.

The closer you draw to Jesus, the deeper, the richer your personal relationship with Him becomes, the more His glory bounces off you like a mirror, into the lives of those around you; the more He changes you from glory to glory; the more, through Him, your very presence lights up people’s lives.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
