The Cape Community FM Radio Station (CCfm) is inviting APPLICATIONS for the following Full Time Management Positions

CCfm is a registered Non Profit Organisation operating as a Community Radio Station providing broadcast services to the Christian community of Cape Town.

 

OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to join our team to provide organizational management support to our General Manager and Management Team

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and administering a range of operational activities in direct support of the delivery of 24-hour community radio programming by the station. As a member of the Management Team of CCfm 107.5, he/she will participate in the development and administration of strategic and operating plans, and will evaluate programmes for compliance with the overall mission of the station.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years of proven organizational / business management experience;
  • Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of facilities management and building safety and security procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Sufficient knowledge of office computer hardware, software and network systems, in order to provide oversight to IT and Technical personnel and service providers.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight of the following key support structures of CCfm
    • Financial Administration department;
    • IT and Technical structures;
    • Front Office administration and communication;
    • Prayer Department;
  • Will also be responsible for building and plant maintenance and security;

The Operations Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will participate as a vital member of the Management Team of CCfm.

 

 

PROGRAMME MANAGER

We are seeking an experienced media professional to take up the position of Programme and Content Manager to provide organizational management support to our General Manager and  Station Management Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our programming teams ensuring that they produce programming which meets the creative, commercial and missional aspirations of our 24-hour community radio station. As a member of the Management Team of CCfm 107.5, he/she will participate in the ongoing development of the sound and editorial content of CCfm 107.5. They will be responsible for ensuring that all programmes comply with the mission of the station and also with the conditions as outlined in our broadcasting license.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years of proven radio broadcasting experience;
  • A tertiary certificate in media, radio or journalism would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of community radio principles, procedures, operations, and standards.
  • The ability to generate original ideas, and to think creatively about how to communicate content to audiences;
  • To have excellent presentation and communication skills, complemented by diplomacy;
  • The ability to exercise sound editorial judgment;
  • The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, to react quickly, and meet tight deadlines;
  • Proven ability to lead with confidence and decisiveness;
  • The ability to manage creative teams and to be able to give and receive constructive feedback and manage performance;
  • Knowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulations around radio production;
  • Knowledge of the radio market, different station and programme styles, and audience demographics;

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with the General Manager, to provide leadership and oversight to
    • The CCfm Presenter and Production teams covering weekday, night time and weekend programming;
    • The CCfm News Department;
    • The CCfm Music compiling and administration system;
  • To continually review and refresh programme output, and devise new programming to attract and retain audiences, and to fulfill the mission of the station;
  • To be the gatekeeper of all content, making editorial decisions relating to interviews, features, inserts and third party programming;
  • Together with the Station Manager, to represent the station externally at a local level, building relationships within the community.
  • To ensure that programming complies with the laws, regulations and industry codes governing radio broadcasting, and to make sure that complaints are dealt with swiftly;

The Programme Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will participate as a vital member of the Management Team of CCfm.

 

 

MARKETING MANAGER

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Marketing Manager to join our team to provide marketing management support to our General Manager and Station Management Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of activities aimed at marketing the services and products of CCfm 107.5 to existing and potential listeners, donors and clients. As a member of the Management Team of CCfm 107.5, he/she will focus on increasing brand awareness and loyalty, grow our audience and attracting new advertisers.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years of proven media marketing experience;
  • A tertiary certificate in marketing or communications would be an advantage;
  • Some knowledge or experience in graphic design will be an advantage;
  • The ability to think creatively and generate original ideas, together with a strong attention to detail;
  • Must have excellent writing skills with an ability to adapt style for different audiences and platforms;
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications, and how to build and manage brands;
  • A strong understanding of the potential of digital communication and social media channels for advertising and marketing campaigns;
  • The ability to work calmly, effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data, and interpret the information for non–specialist colleagues;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, complemented by diplomacy;
  • Knowledge of the radio market, different station and programme styles, and audience demographics;

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Marketing Manager will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Sales and Promotional Teams as they seek to maximise advertising and other revenue streams for the station.
  • Working closely with the General Manager, he/she will provide leadership in marketing the radio station, including oversight of:
    • The Advertising Sales Team, providing support in growing sponsorships and promotions;
    • All Fundraising projects and activities, including donor appreciation;
    • All events, including outside broadcasts, marketing breakfasts, concerts, workshops and other community activities;
  • The Marketing Manager will commission regular research and interpret data about CCfm’s market and listenership. He/she must offer regular insight about audiences, donor and commercial partners, so that the station’s output meets audience and client expectations, contributing to building the brand, and maximising the revenue.
  • Will be responsible for maintaining contact databases.
  • Will be responsible for managing budgets, ensuring the efficient use of resources.
  • He/she will design and implement promotional campaigns and events that engage audiences and meet client needs. They will ensure consistent communication in all marketing activity.

The Marketing Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will participate as a vital member of the Management Team of CCfm.
