Tessa Jacobs
Date of birth ?
20 April
What Year did you begin at Radio CCFm?
2008, a day before Valentines`s Day.
What did you want to be when you were little?
I wanted to be radio presenter, actress and professional dancer.
What is your dream?
To be used by God as a a major key role in our city and create a ripple effect to inspire women all over the world, to put an end to poverty, child abuse and drug abuse. And also to influence all females how to dress appropriately and still look irresistible! And .........also to become a permanent host and presenter on radio.
Whom has influenced you most?
More than one person. Through out my life I have encountered someone that influenced me. Firstly, my mom, my 5 sisters and 5 brothers, my teachers, my handful of close friends, my pastors at Good Hope Christian Centre, my station manager at CCfm and the staff at CCFm.
Why a presenter at CCFm?
I believe God called me to minister to people. This was not my idea. Thank you to Irmgard and Ps Ferdie Botha in believing in me
Your greatest fear?
Okay, lets get real here. No spookiness, okay? SNAKES!!!
What makes you laugh?
It is also sometimes a case of who makes me laugh. I surround myself with intelligent and witty people. I like tongue in the cheek jokes. Recapping on childhood days and exchanging similar jokes with friends and family. I always have a ball of a time. Yes all that hardships in our lives had to bring forth some joy. I have an allergy for negative people (L.O.L) Still want to write a stage comedy.
What angers you?
Females dressing inappropriately, especially in the assembly of believers. They disrespect God, their husbands, set a poor example to their children, disrespect their future husbands and most of all they disrespect themselves. It hurts me deeply. And if no-one is prepared to speak out about this, I am. We have allowed systems to rule out Biblical Instructions in our schools and we laid back and accepted it. If we accept this as a norm in our gatherings what is going to happen to the future generation? Beauty comes from the inside. There is no compromising our faith. You are IN or OUT! Hot or cold! Anger and love has no limits. I choose the latter. Still love you sistas:. Mwah!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Ps Neville saying: Start each day remembring the last miracle God performed in your life.
Ps. Ferdie: " Ons almal maak foute maar ons is nie `n fout nie.
Your Most embarrassing moment?
At the age of 18 years old I have been invited to the Nico Malan Theatre dressed up in evening wear. Black dress and diamonds, only to discover that it was a rehearsal ticket my friend got and that everyone present was wearing takkies and jeans. YES!!!! it was embarrassing, believe me!
Your biggest triumph?
To be announced as winner out of twelve thousand entries across the country to star in Egoli for a year at Franz Marx Films. I was asked to continue acting but I made a decision for God and my family. It was a BIG decisions but I have no regrets. But to crown it all; nothing compares to the new found love I discovered during this time, Jesus.
What is your favourite verse in the Bible and who is your favourite
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Bible character?
Joseph.
What do you do when you are not behind/in front of the microphone at CCFM?
I am a qualified Aerobic`s instructor. I am a L.I.F.E group leader for our Worshipping Arts Department at our church. I am part of the dance team. I read, listen to CCFm daily and channel hop in between radio stations all the time. Still do not know the latest secular songs. Secular songs hurt my Spirit since the day I got born-again. Spend time with family and friends, love shopping and seldom watch TV.
What was the BEST moment of your life?
Accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Seeing how God transforms the lives of people from nothing to great.
Which season is your favourite, and why?
Winter, because I like to go against the norm of society. Getting up early when most people prefer to sleep snugly .
Do you like the wind in Cape Town?
Yes, I cannot control the wind so I try to find the good in every bad situation. The Cape Wind is our" Kaapse Dokter". And besides my hair sometimes looks like I am auditioning for the Lion King character on a hot and sunny day. So what is the point?
What do you think about Cape Town's people?
It is not what I think, it is what God already knows. We are a God Fearing city. People are hungry for God but some of them do not know how to tap into this marvelous, miraculous experience in knowing Jesus. That is where you and I come in; be the SALT and LIGHT wherever you go and be a testimony for God.
