Afrikaans Gospel singer, TV and radio personality, Pastor Ivan Siegelaar, passed away earlier today, at the age of 46, at Groote Schuur hospital, following a long battle with cancer.

Siegelaar was born in Cape Town on 3rd August 1970, into a family of four of whom he was the youngest.
His singing talent was only discovered later in life while working at a local hospital.
He was sponsored to go for voice training and his incredible cross-over classical style opened the door for many singing engagements across the City.

In 2013, he experienced a break-through in his career when Barbara Streisand’s producers invited him to share the stage with her in Holland.
The performances received exceptional reviews, abroad and locally.

Siegelaar’s final contribution to the local Gospel music scene was a collaboration with fellow Gospel greats, Loyiso Bala and Neville D, which produced ‘Great Hymns of Faith’ CD and DVD.

CCFm 107.5 extends our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Gospel legend.
